Show LIBERTY 111 IS NOW NEK El OF CAMPAIGN Ogden Liberty loan subscriptions are now well over the million dollar mark but considerably under the apportionment ap-portionment for the district of $1,370,-000. $1,370,-000. When the report from all the banks were checked up Saturday It was found that a total of $1,081,500 had been subscribed. There is also a sum of $75,000 to $80,000 which hae been subscribed by local employes of the Southern Pacific railroad company which it is understood will be added to the city's total. This will raise the figure considerably again. Subscriptions will be taken for several sev-eral days more, the final accounting not to be made until May 6. but the Liberty loan committee is very eager to get the total subscribed by Tuesday Tues-day evening so that the district will have a clean slate before May L Chairman Fell this morning said, however, that subscriptions would be received during the first few days of May and this will give many an opportunity op-portunity to subscribe for bonds who have been waiting for pay day to get money. Reports from the county are quite encouraging. Several districts have subscribed their apportionment and gone over the top with a considerable surplus Huntsville has subscribed $7.-500. $7.-500. Its apportionment was $4000. North Ogden's apportionment was $4000, and it has subscribed $6000. Other Oth-er districts also, reported previously, have "gone over" with good sized amounts. Tho loan committee has eliminated all but 1002 out of the possible 6000 subscribers considered able to buy bonds, who have not done so. There have been 3998 subscribers throughout through-out the district thus far. The Boy Scouts are working industriously indus-triously "gleaning", and have reported considerable success. |
