Show CAMPJRfflONT Club Needs Lead-off Man Like Fitzgerald, Says Graham Effort to Get Schaller. SAN FRANCISCO, March 26. The Sedls got in from Fresno this morning and were billed to go to Camp Fremont Fre-mont to play tho soldiers in the afternoon, after-noon, but rain caused a change in tho plans. The boys were glad of it for they were a bit tired from tho rido and welcomed a day of rest. Graham said if tho club had a man like Fitzgerald to lead off it would, be a well-balanced aggregation, one strong enough to battle all-comers and bo a real factor in the race right from tho jump-off. But a leadoff man like Fitzgerald is not easy to find, so for the present tho outfield will consist of John Hummel, experienced fly-chaser; fly-chaser; John Goldie, an ambitious youth of limited ability, and Herbie Hunter, who has yet to show that he can make good as an outfielder. Although Biff Schaller changed his mind after agreeing to join the Seals again this year, the men who have invested in-vested their money in tho local club made ono last effort to get him today. But it was of no use. Biff has bought a fliwor; he is satisfied with his job at the Union Iron works, and he has given baseball tho go-by. So tho Seals need at least one reliable relia-ble outfielder preferably a man who can lead off. If Herb Hunter shows hitting strength, ho may stay in the outfield. But if ho falls down, then two fly-chasers will bo needed. The club also needs another experienced pitcher and Graham hopes to land ono this week. ,INTRA-STATE PASSES. WASHINGTON, March 26.
