Show uu GUARDSMEN GOING TO NATIONAL TOURNEY SALT LAKE. Aug. 17. A call for sixteen crack rifle shots to attend the National Rifle club shoot at Camp Peary, which meet will be held from September 16 to 21, inclusive, was issued is-sued last night by Major H. M. II. Lund, assistant adjutant-general. The men must leave Salt Lake on either August 27 or 2S. The men arc required to report at Camp Peary not later than September 1 for training. Sixteen men will rcpresnt the national guard of Utah. The government will pay all expenses expens-es both going and coming, and the men are assured exceptional experience, exper-ience, as the crack rifle shots of the national army will bo on hand at Camp Peary from all parts of the country. Men who deslre'to make this trip may get in touch with either Major Ma-jor Lund or the various recruiting offices of-fices of tho national guard. Lieutenant Roger W. Powers has put in a call for cooks. "Wo need cooks badly," ho said. "While wo do not expect ex-pect men who apply to be Waldorf chefs, the United States army ha5 the reputation of furnishing good chow to its soldiers, and the Utah national guard will be no exception to the rule." oo Charles Travitz, 13 days old, -was operated on recently at tho hospital in Harrisburg, Pa., for appendicitis. |
