The young man has been a member of the Southern Pacific band and when! the affair of Tuesday evening was, planned the band boys were not over- j looked and In turn they did not overlook over-look the fact that Frank Haynes had been one of their splendid organization for the musicians gave a program of tho latest musical numbers during the evening and beforo they departed for their homes presented the honor guest with a beautifully engraved signet sig-net ring as a token of their esteem and good-fellowship. The Southern Pacific Glee club was also present at tho party and their ever-welcome vocal vo-cal selections wero thoroughly enjoyed by the entire gathering, nearly 150 guests being present during the evening. eve-ning. The lawn about the Haynes' home was artistically lighted and decorated and here the guests danced and made merry until a late hour. During the entire evening tempting refreshments were served. Altogether tho party was one of the most enjoyable given for some. time and proved a fitting farewell to a soldier sol-dier boy. FROM CAPITAL CITY. t Miss Cora Flinders of Salt Lake City Is spending the week-end in Ogden with her sister, Mrs. Walter E. Richards Rich-ards of 627 Twenty-third street. MRS. BEESON RETURNS. Mrs. T. Don Beeson has returned to this city from San Diego where she has been spending the past two months or more with her husband who is a .member of the sanitary detachment detach-ment of the lloth Hold artillery of Utah. Sergeant Beeson has now departed de-parted for overseas duty and Mrs. Beeson will reside in Ogden with her mother, Mrs. J. G. Falck, 2665 Monroe avenue. Mrs. Beeson is one of the cleverest musicians of Ogden and will resume hr position as an instructor in the conservatory of music. GUESTS OF MR. AND MRS. FAR IS. Mr, and Mrs. P. T. Faris have as their house guests Mr. T. Faris and Mr. E. L. Menior of Springfield, Ohio, who are enroute to Portland, Oregon to attend the G. A. R. convention. WHITE ROSE CLUB. Mrs. James Welsh of 3233 Pacific avenue entertained the members of the White Rose club last Monday aftornoon at her homo, the time being spent in playing cards. A light luncheon lunch-eon was served later in the aftornoon. Tho next meeting will beheld with Mrs. Arthur Porter at her home, 1070 Oak avenue. Shurtliff, formerly Miss Alberta Folscroft of this city left Ogden last evening for Portland, Oregon, Ore-gon, where she will visit for a few days beforo joining her husband who is stationed at Camp Lewi3.
