An official announcement issued is-sued after the meeting merely said: "The discussion was a ery grave! ! one " According to the Daily Telegraph, j Sir Edward Carson, the Lister leader, spoke in the Interest of Lister while the other members urged that every effort should be made to secure a set tlement ot the home rule question even at the sacrifice of long cherished principles. No resolution, the papei says, was adopted, but the balance of Feeling waa that the government must I proceed cautiouslj with the home rule bills. |
