Show II WELI IIS N with m m I mm 1 Recently Hon. M. H. Welling of ju Utah was selected as ono of the doff do-ff pondable Democrats of the house by i tho party floor leader, from whom the I Utah congressman received tho fol- lowing letter: I "Hon. Milton H. Welling, house of I I representatives. My dear Welling: 1 1 you possibly can, I want you to stay i here during the three-day recess to j R help mo cany out the gentleman's ft agreement we made in the house to-I to-I I. day. When I presented the proposition j of agreement to the house today, I said V we would have to keep, and "that I 1 would keep, a sufficient number of members hero to meet at each three-' day session to see that the agreement is carried out in letter and spirit. Some, who were not present then tho agreement was made, claiming that they were not parties to it, might at some of the three-day sessions attempt at-tempt to embarrass us by trying to bring up some ipecial bill or matter in which they are interested, and if not allowed, would make points of the quorum, demand roll calls, etc. Wc must have enough members present at each session to prevent this. I hope I can count on you. With kind regards and best wishes, I am, cordially yours, (Signed) "CLAUD KITCHEN." nn |
