Every other consideration considera-tion is secondary." This statement was made last night at tho dinner tendered ten-dered him at the Newhouso hotel by Hebrew residents of Salt Lake by Dr. Nathan Krass, rabbi of the Central Congregation of New York City, who is passing his vacation in work for the American Jewish war relief fund. Dr. Krass arrived yesterday and will leave tomorrow for San Francisco. He will address the Rotary club at its luncheon lunch-eon today. Dr. Krass, who is at the head of one of the most prominent churches in the nation, came to Salt Lake from Denver. "America is the fine haven of your ancestors and you should do all in your power to see that the nation continues con-tinues to be tho place of refuge and opportunity for others suffering under the heel of oppression," Dr. Krass stated. "Our duty today is to pulverize pulver-ize Prussianism and scatter it abroad to fertilize the growth of genuine democracy de-mocracy and freedom for all peoples. "All who havo studied German history his-tory know that there no Jew can hold any position of trust or become an officer of-ficer in the army, can ever become a professor in a university, or what chance has he of overcoming tho many civil disabilities under which he la bors. The outbreaks against tnc Jew in Russia were largely due to the German Ger-man agents there. Educated Americans Ameri-cans know it is folly to oven suspect the Jew of disloyalty. But we don't have to tell of our loyalty it has been proven. Governor Bamberger, who is president presi-dent of tho local relief organization, was a speaker. "We have the satisfaction sat-isfaction of knowing that we aro better bet-ter off than our forefathers.. We should be grateful for the conditions under which wo live in America.
