Show I Theatres AT THE ORPHEUM. j There is none of the "walla-walla" ' in the Pantages menu at the Orpheum theater, which began delighting Og-den Og-den amusement hunters last night and i will continue the big Bhow attraction for the remainder of the week. Every -Hl: 1 one in the long list and there's a 1' , huge contingent is an artist. t, Without Intending to particularize, ! for the entire combination has gen-' gen-' uine merit, it is probable that one William Mahoney, a gentile Jewish j h person, caught the popular verdict for excellence. He is the fun section of the team of Brady and Mahoney, who are advertised on the program as handing out a bundle of mirth under . the title of "The Cruise of the Doughnut." Dough-nut." It also is advertised, and properly prop-erly so, as "one of those rip. roaring, rollicking skits built solely for fun a voyage on the esa of mirth." Howard Clinton and Gladys Davis, with a supporting company of industrious indus-trious and fascinating and gracefully constructed Broadway beauties, likewise like-wise were favorites. They came forth as "Bon Voyageurs" and they wero rather they did. They made the trip from the Golden Gate around the Horn, up through Holy lands, into tho headquarters of the Crescent.-over romantic ro-mantic Spain and back to Miss Liberty, Lib-erty, in approved manner. They were rambling first class and delivering a variety of song and story calculated to make the spectator come back for more. Other numbers on the bill included "The Saint and the Sinner," which probably contained slightly too much fervor and centered little too pointedly uponthe tedious sociological to be a sure cure for indigestion or other troubles. The Cromwells did some juggling that startled and Jessie and Dollie Millar, hi artistic dancing, music and song, pleased. |
