Show -oo I TEJCHERS RESPOND TD THE CALL IDE FDR SID In response to the request from the superintendent of schools to the teachers teach-ers who are idle because of the epidemic epi-demic of influenza that they respond to the call for nurses and assistants in homes, sc-voral teachers today registered reg-istered at the office of tho board of Those who have registered as nurses nurs-es and expressed a willingness to go into homes where influenza exists and there is need of nurses, will be assigned as-signed to such work. Others who have registered to assist in the houses by doing household work will probably be assigned to that work. There were five teachers of tho city who registered regis-tered at the office this morning but' more are expected to respond during the day. , The school nurse, Miss Titley, Is engaged at the hospital in the basement base-ment of the Congregational church, working in cooperation with the city health authorities nnd Ogden doctors. ( The school superintendent has also issued a call to all boys and girls who are Idle through force of circumstances circumstan-ces that they register at the board of education as workers. The names will be reported to the employment bureau and they will -bo called to fill positions where they can qualify. |
