Show BUM ffl NOTES BRIGHAM CITY, March S. David Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum S. Jensen of this city, has decided to study law and will leave in a few days for Washington, D. C, where he will enter a law, school for a number of years. Mr. Jensen, a young man, has spent a year or so in the office of a local attorney. He is incapacitated for service in the army or any other branch of the service. In Washington he will enter toe office of Congressman Congress-man Welling for a period. The Box Elder Roller Mills company com-pany has outlieved its original incorporation incor-poration period ot twenty-five years and is now being reincorporated by tho present stockholders. The milling company com-pany is one of the oldest corporations in this city, and had a3 its first president, pres-ident, Lorenzo Snow, for a number of years president of the Mormon church. The president of the company upon the expiration of tho corporation limit was Brigham Nelson of Perry. Mr. Nelson will remain at the head of tho company until the time of the annual meeting of the stockholders next January. Jan-uary. Box Elder county has added another five men to its long list of patriotic young men now in the service of the country. During the week the local draft board inducted Knut V. Johnson of Nafton into the service. He joined the navy and was sent to Ogden to be assigned by the recruiting officer there. John W. Chrlstensen, Cleon Anderson, Conrad Ipsen and Mansiield Ipsen, all of Bear River City, .joined the service in this city yesterday. They joined the coast artillery and were sent to Fort Logan, Colo. A deputy dispenser of explosives was found to be necessary in this county owing to tho extensive mining operation in the western part of the county and eastern Nevada, so the county commissioners appointed Phillip Paskett of Grouse Creek deputy dep-uty for the western part of the county with full authority to issue permits for the use of explosives 91 that section. This convenience will save the users of explosives In western Box Elder a great deal of time and inconvenience in coming to this city for their permits to purchase explosives. |
