Show uu KAISER'S PARTISAN IS ORDERED INTERNED SALT LAKE, March 8. During the five years that he has been a resident of the United States, Ernest Walter Pletch has not learned to appreciate the privileges which ho has enjoyed under tho Stars nnd Stripes, and as an enemy alien ho will probably bo interned in-terned in tho war prison barracks at Fort Douglas. He was arrested on a presidential warrant, and during the noon hour he was taken from a West Second South street coffeo house, where ho was employed as a cook, to tho office of Leon Bone, special agent of the department of justice, and later to tho county jail, -where he will remain re-main until tho formal warrant is received re-ceived from Washington, D. C, ordering order-ing his internment. Pietch was arrested after repeated warnings by fedoral officials and other citizens to ceaso his pro-German utterances. ut-terances. He freely, and rather proudly proud-ly admitted that his sympathies are with the kaiser, and that because of tho fact that he has relatives in tho German army ho does not hesitate to express the hopo that tho Germans will win the war. |
