Show CHEW DISMISSED BY.THESHOHT LINE SALT LAKE, Nov. 7, An investigation investiga-tion conducted yesterday by officials of the Oregon Short Line railroad for the purpose of fixing responsibility for the wreck that occurred last Sunday Sun-day on the Malad branch, in which twenty-eight persons were injured and several cars destroyed, resulted in the dismissal of the entire train crew, it was said at the railroad company offices last night. The Investigation was conducted by General Superintendent F. H. Knicker- bockor and R A. Pierce, superintendent of the Salt Lake division, and the engineer" engi-neer" the wrecked train is said to have voluntarily shouldered most of the blame, explaining that tho recent death of his only child and the severe Illness of his wife distracted his thoughts and caused him to forget his train orders. All of those who were injured in the smashup are reported to be recovering recov-ering rapidly. |
