Show 1 ' Visitors Start Out Strong But Are Downed by Aggies Whose Defense Is Great, i I LOGAN, Nov. 6. The Colorado Ag- ! gies proved to be as easy for tho UUih Aggies as the rest of the latter's opponents op-ponents so far this season and were defeated today by a score of 47 to 7. One of the largest crowds that evor turned out to witness a football game was on hand to cheer the locals on to victory. The defense of the two teams was of the highest order. Colorado started I I out strong and looked as if it would f give the A. C. one of the hardest bat- ties of the season. The first quarter 1 1 was nip and tuck with the outcome 1 doubtful, but at the beginning of the second period the local Aggies began to solve the trick plays of the Colorado boys and the rest was easy, j Captain Twilchell won the toss" and chose to kick. Colorado returned . the punt, which resulted in a fifteen-yard , gain for the Utah boys. The ball was advanced to the twenty-five-yard line with a series of end runs. Stiefel i kicked a drop for a goal. Colorado i kicked and the localsdgazed fondly at I the ball, expecting it to roll out of bounds. The ball stayed in, however, and Colorado recovered it on the Aggies' Ag-gies' one-yard line. The whistle blew, I ending the quarter. Score: Utah 3, I Colorado 0. Visitors Open Strong. The second quarter opened up with Colorado having the ball on the Aggies' one-yard line-I line-I Prlrvnrln mnHo Itc nnlv f nilfVlflnwn at this moment when Michel carried the ball over from the one-yard line : and Hoerner kicked goal. Last year's champs "kicked oft and the Aggies car- j ! rled the ball to the ihirly-flve-yard line. I Conkwright made thirty yards on 3 j! straight line plunges. Tho Colorado H' : boys were unable to stop the plunging of the Logan fullback. Stiefel carried I the ball over the line through center j and kicked goal. Aggies received. Jarvis ran the ball back thirty yards ' through a broken field. The ball was carried to the twelve-yard line by a ser-ies ser-ies of end runs by the halfbacks. Cbnk-wright Cbnk-wright scored a touchdown on three . line plunges through center. Stiefel j: kicked goal. On the next kickoff Colo- t' j rado tried their famous million-dollar fl )! pass but failed to fool the Logan farm- l I ers. The locals advanced the ball fif-i fif-i ward pass. Stiefel attempted a drop' j teen yards and made fifteen on a for- H' , from the thirty-yard Hd v,- failed. I 1 t Colorado made thirty yards down the BL ! field -with a rapid succession of plays. H i At this point the Aggie line held and II; forced Colorado to kick. The locals 'I ' -made their touchdown on a long for- H ' ward pass, Stiefel to Mohr. Stiefel I j kicked. Score: Utah 24, Colorado 7. Hj H I Cplorado came back strong at the J beginning of the second half and work- H. ed the ball down the field for forty H ' yards but was held and forced to kick. H J Stiefel ran fifty yards with perfect H I Interference for a touchdown but fail- H i ed to kick goal. Colorado received and H was forced to kick. Stiefel fumbled B the ball on the ten-yard line but re- covered and ran ninety yards for a B touchdown. Worley kicked goal. Colo-B Colo-B rado received and returned the ball a B ' 1 - few yards down the field. The "niil-B "niil-B j lion-dollar play" was again tried but B was as much a failure as before.
