Show BERTHA SiffiO! B ESCAPED FM S SERIOUS CHARGE Tho charge against Bertha Anderson, Ander-son, colored, Avas dismissed in police court this morning. She was accused of a statutory crime. County Attorney Charles L. Farr recommended the dismissal dis-missal because an important witness in the case cannot be located. The woman was arrested at the time Dillard and Mathes, two colored men, were taken Into custody for several burglaries. It was thought Bertha had something to do with these two men in their work about town and a charge of vagrancy was put against her. She was sentenced to thirty days in the county jail, while the sheriff's department depart-ment was. busy gathering evidence against her. In the meantime, Dillard was sentenced sen-tenced to the penitentiary and Mathes' trial will come up in the district court during the January term.
