Show oo r N Society V J SUPRISE PARTY Mrs. Ella McBride, proprietor of the Plaza apartments, was the honor guest of a most pleasant surprise party on Saturday night by the tenants of the apartments. The party was held In the ballroom and was a farewell to Jlrs. McBride, who will leave shortly. She was given a fine leather bouud writing set, as a token of the esteem in which she is held. TO GIVE PLAY AGAIN. The Ninth ward dramatic club was most successful in its presentation of the play, "Why Art Thou Cast Down," which was presented last week, under the direction of Miss Sula Heninger in the ward amusement hall. The play was given for the benefit of the M. I. A. of the Ninth ward. The play will be given at the Taylor ward by the same cast on Thursday night of this week and later it will be given at North Ogden ana Hunts-ville, Hunts-ville, the members of these wards having invited the cast to present the play at these places. The drama, in three acts, is taken from the life of the early colonial days, when religious and moral ethics were very narrow. At that time persons per-sons wero brought to court to answer to tho most trivial violation of the laws. There Is a- deep shade of romance ro-mance through the entire drama and It comes to a climax by the Joining of tho hearts of the hero and his loved one. The cast 1b composed of tho follow ing persons: Misses Frances Marsh, Maria Vellinga, Anna Velllnga, Ethel Owens, Mesdames W. Wangsgaard. Sarah Jackson, Lillian Bingham and Messrs. Herman Koldewyn, Alex. Faddis, Jos. Fernellus, Edward Bingham, Bing-ham, Earl Owens, Heber Oborn, Robert Howie, Fred Rouse and Delbert Foul-ger. |
