This summer most of the available space in the various home yards has been utilized for tho growing of vegetables, vege-tables, so that there has been bust a few entering in the flower garden contest. con-test. In the visits made by the supervisor, the expression, expres-sion, "You just can't imagine what the little garden has done for us," has been often heard. The boys and girls will have gained valuable experience in planting and caring ior the gardens and it is certain that next year even greater efforts will be made to make the war gardens a success. The experience gained Is to be made use of in the schools. Compositions will be assigned the pupils relative to garden work and the rehearsal of experiences ex-periences will be of mutual benefit. Much credit Is due the parents for the encouragement given tho children, land It is "hoped that this interest will continue so that next year greater efforts ef-forts will be made and even better ro-! ro-! suits ensue in the important war garden gar-den movement. |
