This brings the total subscription to approximately ap-proximately $3500. The figure set for Ogden to raise is ?10,470 and there remains only tomorrow within which to do it. Tho sub-committees, however, have not reported and they havo been working today and will work tomorrow. tomor-row. Tho sub-committees are canvassing canvass-ing the city in districts and expect to report substantial subscriptions to the fund. The ofllco of the Ogden Publicity bureau in tho Weber club is headquarters headquar-ters for the organization and sub-committees, by special request of Secretary Secre-tary O. J. Stilwell, should report their work and turn over their collections to him each evening between the hours of 7:30 and 9 o'clock. When approached ap-proached by our solicitors many havo appeared disinterested and unwilling to give support This fund which wo are gathering Is to be used for one of the finest causes of any which have arisen as a result of the war. It Is Just as important as the liberty loan or the Red Cross funds. The money will be used to work with the living, with the boys yet fresh and clean and to save them from a fate worse than death on tho battlefield. It Is to keep 1 them contented and to make them know we are back of them in their j efforts to preserve tho principles of I humanity and liberty. We can offer no greater testimonial of these boys j than our eager and substantial subscription sub-scription to this fund." |
