Show DeatSis and Funerals BROWN Mrs. Amanda Brown one of the earliest pioneers of Utah and tho widow of the late Alexander Brown, passed away at the home of hor daughter, Mrs. John Hutchins, 230 West Second street this morning. Cancer Can-cer was the cause of death. Mrs. Brown was born in Washington county, coun-ty, Missouri, February -1, 1834, the daughter of Samuel and Julia Morris McMurtry. She was a faithful member of the church of Latter-Day Saints having joined the church when a young girl. Mrs. Brown crossed the plains to Utah in 1847 In the same company as the late President C. F. Middleton. Sho is survived by the following children: Mrs. Eliza Kaplln, James L. Brown, Mrs. Lois Hutchins, William R. Brown and Mrs. Eflle Al-hn. Al-hn. Twenty-five grandchildren, forty gjeat grandchildren and two great-gnat great-gnat grandchildren survive; also one siser, Mrs. Zclla Readicker of Call-fonJa. Call-fonJa. The body was taken to the LarWn chapel to be prepared for funeral fu-neral services and interment. MADARI ETA Marie Madarieta, 9-months 9-months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Madarieta died at the family home 1l Baker, Nev., last Saturday. The bod was brought to tho Kirken-dall Kirken-dall chapel In Ogden for funeral services, serv-ices, which will be hold Saturday at 3 o'clock. Interment Mountain View cemetery. CAREY lira. Gwendolyn .Carey, wife of the late Edmund M. Carey, passed away at the Dee hospital this morning at 6:10 o'clock from septicemia, septice-mia, developing from bloodpoisoning in her left hand. Mrs. Carey was brought to the hospital from Evanston yesterday yester-day for an operation. The body will be shipped to Evanston tonight by tho Larkin establishment. Funeral services serv-ices will be held in the Wyoming city. Mrs. Carey was a momber of the Church of Latter-day Saints and also a Royal Neighbor. She was prominent in Relief society work in Evanston. |
