"Imported. oo RAIN GIVES OAKS ANOTHER HOLIDAY BOYES SPRINGS, Cal., March 10. Tho rain hit' this camp a hard blow I this morning, so that all playing on the part of the Oakland squad for the day was out of the question. Tho boys were turned loose to entertain themselves them-selves as best they could. Some played cards and others went to the movies, but most of the young hopefuls just "stuck around" and swapped yarns about their own particular calling, what they had already seen and what they hoped to be. Everybody on the squad is hoping the sun will come out In time to dry the grounds before the game scheduled for next Wednesday between tho Oaks and the fast SL Mary's nine. The boys realize that tho rain is needed by the farmers, but at the same time the ranchers must not be as hoggish as they appeared to be today when the rain came down in sheets as if it never thought of stopping. |
