Show NO-MAN'S-LAND IS APPROPRIATED CAMP KEARNY, Cal., July 1. "No Man's Land" is no more. M company, com-pany, 160th California infantry has appropriated ap-propriated it, "No Man's Land" was a strip of ground between the officers' rows of L and M companies. Neither wanted it; neither would make It part of the la-svn which extended on either side of it- Then the erection of one of the new dental infirmaries robbed M com pany of part of its lawn" and tho remaining re-maining strip was too narrow to suit that company's expansive ideas. "No Man's Land" was appropriated and decorated with a trench system, a wire entanglement and a tank, all in miniature. The decorations attracted attract-ed so much attention that traffic was Impeded by groups of observing soldiers, sol-diers, and orders "were Issued that the display must be uprooted. Now the once picturesque spot is 'merely a strip of lawn, tended by M company details. |
