Show WAR TAX IN FORCE ON THEATER TICKETS NEW YORK, Nov. 1. The war tax on theater tickets, effective throughout the country today, has necessitated the employment of many additional clerks In New York theaters to collect the tax. At one of the leading theaters where the patronage by children is unusually un-usually large, twelve extra persons have been hired to regulate the complex com-plex matter of the children's tax. ;o 1 Children under 12 will be taxed one ' H cent on all tickets instead of ten per f (H cent on the value, and two methods t k of collecting this tax will be employed. r- Ml In some cases children will be given j 10 ifPI a rebate entitling them to a refund aud ;i- in others tickets will be stamped in iv, sM a way that will Identify them at once. k |
