The hour has struck when each man and woman and child must know that he and she have a distinct duty to perform, a distinct dis-tinct placo to fill. Personal responsibility Is the kcynoto of the hour. Yet here is ono of the strange contradictions. Many persons in taking over tho new responsibilities aro letting go of tho old ones. And many arc assuming assum-ing that certain responsibilities are theirs which aro not theirs at all and are allowing allow-ing the old obligations to go by the board. and yet these former responsibilities must I be shouldered by some one I It Is Incidental to all wars, of course, that the old order of living should bo. upset. But it Is not true that all of us are called to give up our old duties and take up new and unfamiliar ones. |
