Show BRICKLAYERS URGED TO ENLIST WITH SERVICE ' Mayor A. R. Heywood, chairman of tho city selective draft board, has issued is-sued a statement urging that all bricklayers, brick-layers, for whose services tho government govern-ment has sent out an urgent appeal, and who come within the classification of the selective draft ages, appear before be-fore tho board, waive exemptions and receive their assignments. "ThiB is an urgent call and one to which all patriotic bricklayers should .respond," said Mayor Heywood. "They are needed at various cantonments and other centers where the government is seeking to rush its work. Those who appear and waive their exemptions and receive assignments may escape trencli duty, provided they caro to escape es-cape trench duty. Their services at present are valuable in that they will perform the primary duties of transforming trans-forming the laymen into a fighting American by making his conditions comfortable." |
