Show VICTORIA CROSS AGAIN AWARDED LONDON. July 3. (Correspondence of The Associated Press.) For tho second time during the war, tho VIc- torla Cross has been awarded without i anj detailed account of the reason be-' ing published. The first instance was that of Commander Com-mander Gordon Campbell of the navy; the second instance is Lieut. Commander Com-mander W.s-E.' Sanders, of. the naval reserve. The official notice of the honor to Sanders, says merely: "In recognition of conspicuous gallantry, gal-lantry, consummate coolness and skill in command of one of his majesty's ships in notion. " Rumor ascribed Campbell's preferment prefer-ment to work against submarines. |
