Show Ferry Youth Is Sent To Prison For Slaying Boy j Truman Ferry, son of former Mayor W. Mont Ferry of Salt Lake pleaded guilty Monday before District Judge M. L. Ritchie to a charge of involuntary involun-tary manslaughter in connection with the death of Calvert Feller of Woods Cross, and was sentenced to six months in the county jail. Stay of execution of the sentence was granted until Thursday. Ferry was driver of an automobile which crashed into a truck in which Calvert Feller was riding. The boy was killed instantly and his father suffered severe injuries. ;? The accident occurred after an all night party, during which Ferry, together to-gether with his . brother, William, Henry Luellwitz, and two girls were ordered to leave a Salt Lake cafe after considerable boisterous conduct Getting into their automobile the par-ty par-ty started to drive to some hot springs. While attempting to turn a bend in north Salt Lake the crash occured. Wiiliam Ferry ai d Luellwitz pleaded guilty to being drunk and were fined $200 each. Jail sentences were imposed im-posed but were suspended. -. |
