Show I EXEMPT! ASKED FOR EMPLOYES OF 0101 PACIFIC An erroneous Impression has created In regard to the attltudo of the Union Un-ion Pacific concerning tho draft. It has been stated that tho company has filed claims for exemption for Its employes em-ployes on tho grounds that they aro engaged In Industrial pursuits. W. H. Chovers, general agent for the company, made tho statement today that this Is wrong, inasmuch as tho Union Un-ion Pacific Is not to mako Industrial claims for its omployes. "It has advised Its employes," he said, "that all who desire to mako exemption ex-emption claims on their own nocount may consult the attorneys, for thc railroad, rail-road, in order to find out just what to do and how to do 1L "Tho Union Pacific Is co-oporating In ovory way possible with tho government govern-ment authorities and Is not asking any special favors. Wo take it for granted that only those who ask for exemption exemp-tion aro entitled to it undor tho law and, as far as tho work of tho road Itself It-self is concerned, wo feel It bettor to take our chances, fooling that this attitude at-titude is tho ono which finds the fullest full-est co-operation with the administration administra-tion at Washington." |
