Show I TOURISTS C8MPING I HHEB I GLEWWOOD Jones' Grove, the mecca for auto M tourists In Ogdcn, was occupied by ten parties last night. M The signs placed at the north and W south ends of town have proved their worth in directing tho tourists to the grove. Other signs have been placed on the street leading from Washing-ton Washing-ton avenue to the grove, so that par-M par-M ties can easily find the place. A large Wi sign has also been erected at the en- trance to the camp grounds. This M sign prohibits horses entering the M grove. This is done because of the U flies attracted wherever there are horses. As an added convenience to travel-W travel-W ers, an auto director' has been placed M in the grove, so that it Is an easy mat- M ter for all parties to And a garage for supplies and repairs. Arrangements have been made to put ilve electric lights in the grove. M This will be done through the co-i Wt operation of tho city and the publlcitv bureau. The wines will be strung as Wt soon as possible, so that parties ar- M riving at night will have no difficulty W in getting their camp laid out for the M night. Those who camped last night were: D. T. Cheech and family from Aberdeen, Wash. They aro on route to- Yellowstone park, but intend to stop a few days In Ogdcn. WM H. Shaubel and wife from Silver M City, N. M. They aro going home W through Nevada and the southern route. M R. F. Bibb, wife and little girl, from Independence, Cal. En route to St. Louis to visit, they will remain in Og-den Og-den a day or two to rest. H J. F. Brown and wife and G. A. Boynton and wife from El Centro In the Imperial valloy, bound for Poca-tello, Poca-tello, have camped in the grove since Sunday. They have one of tho best arranged camping outfits seen here this season. A tent has been, made that covers the car and extends well over both sides. J. Silvy. M. Silvy and wife and J. M. Hickey from Poca City, Okla., are on their way to Yellowstone. From San Francisco to South Dakota Da-kota is the route of the party composed com-posed of L. H. Billings and wife and R. C. Flory and family. They left the coast city on July 19. There were other parties who left early this morning for their different destinations. All seen expressed their appreciation apprecia-tion of the camping grounds. |
