Show J TO 'OGDEN'S COTERIE OF MUSICIANS H MISS IVINE SHIELDS. B Miss Ivine Shields, niece of Depot- B master John Shields of the Ogden Un- B ion Railway and Depot company, is a B comparatively new addition to the B city's circle of talented musicians, pcr- B former and instructor. She is both a B singer and pianist of ability and is B fast becoming popular in tlio social B circle where she Is known. B A year ago. Miss Shields came to B Ogden to live, having accepted a posi- B tion as music instructor In the depart- H ment for the blind, at the Utah State M School for the Deaf and Blind. Her B first important public demonstration of her value to the community and the state school was staged early in the month, when she presented the Blind chorus of the school in :i program of choruses that surprised and delighted a large audience. The chorus was of her own making, nothing similar over having before been attempted at the school and its singing was a fine compliment com-pliment to her ability and indefatigable indefatig-able efforts. At the school, her unassuming manner man-ner has endeared her to both students and fellow faculty members. Miss Shields expected to remain in Ogden and has big plans for the future. |
