Show (HUE MEASURES HAVE BEEN SIGNED Governor Bamberger Does HU Part to Reward Black Hawk Veteran. Salt Lake. March 9 The signing yesterday by Governor Simon Bamberger Bam-berger of senate bill No. 155. providing 11250 for the relief of William H. Jenne, a veteran of the Black Hawk Indian war, brought out an Interesting feature of the negotiations between the early Mormon settlers and the Indians In-dians for the creation of a state of peace between the white men and the red men in this territor Jenne was formerly a private under Captain .Tared C. Roundy and also under un-der William W. ciuff. He served in the famous Nauvoo legion. Negotiations vith the Indians under the great chief Washakie had proceeded proceed-ed to the point where the white men were to send the Indians some beef cattle. Private Jenne was one of those selected to drive the herd to the Camp Of the Indians ferine was game, but his horse took fright, reared and fell on the soldier In such a way that his leg bones weer badly fractured.
