Show Society TERM-END RECITALS The regular term-end recitals of the elementary department of the Ogden Conservator' of Music will be held at the conservatory Saturday, November 13, at 2 p. m. and 4 p. m. MISS GOODMAN HOSTESS Miss Bessie Goodman entertained some friends at her home, 2463 Jefferson Jef-ferson avenue, last Friday evening. A very pleasant timo was spent In sewing. sew-ing. Those present wore: Mrs. Charles Thompson, Mrs. Frot-well, Frot-well, Mrs. Phillphs,, Mrs. Rackam, Mrs. Ballard, Mrs. Goodman, Mrs. Thompson, Miss Nellie Watts and iss Dorothy Goodman. ELECTION DINNER. The Ladios' Aid society of the First Methodist church will give an olection dinner at the church, Tuesday at 12 o'clock and also in the afternoon at 6. The supper will bo served in tho basement base-ment of the church and every one is invited to participate, MISSIONARY SOCIETY. Tho Missionary society of the First Methodist church will meet Wednesday Wednes-day at 2:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. J. A. Root, 554 Twenty-seventh street with Mrs. Gertrude Carr and Mrs. Lillibell Falck In charge of tho program. SPECIAL MEETING There will be a special meeting of the Martha society this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the day nursery to discuss dis-cuss the plans for the charity ball. HISTORICAL SOCIETY. The Historical Society held a meeting meet-ing at the home of Mrs. Edward BIchsel last Saturday afternoon with Mrs. William Meal presiding, in the absence of the president, Mrs. D. H. Adams who is under quarantine. A short business meeting was held and Mrs. Newcombe Introduced Professor Quivey of the University of Utah, who presented the Faust Legend. Ho traced his history and growth, finding find-ing some of its elemonts as far back as tne story oi tne uaruen ot jcuuh. Prof. Quivey left the interpretation of tho legend to his audience, presenting pre-senting much material for philosophical philosophi-cal thought. Following the talk, Mrs. Bichsel, assisted by her daughter, served refreshments. DANCE. Wednesday, November S, is the date set for the Elk's opening dancing parity par-ity of the winter social season. tea! Tho regular tea will be given at the Maids' and Matrons' club rooms tomorrow afternoon. MRS. VEASY RETURNS. Mrs. C. W. Veasy has rotumod to her home, 2G71 Adams avenue after a delightful six months' visit in Chicago, Chi-cago, Detroit and other eastern cities. FOR THE LITTLE MISSES TOONE. The Misses Mablo and Vera Toone, daughter and granddaughter respectively respect-ively of Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Toone, were the victims of a very pleasant lawn social in honor of their eighth birthday, both coming near the same date. Vera Is a daughter of Albert L. Toone, Jr., and Grace Matson Toono, both of whom are deceased. Games, lunching and vocal and instrumental instru-mental music was Indulged in to tho enjoyment in full of tho little tots present, whioh includos tho Misses Jean Huband, Helen Shaw, Ruth Blay-lock, Blay-lock, Eva Jones, Pearl Holmes, Na-thclla Na-thclla Shupe, Fern Campbell. Mlna Storey, Mrs. Hannah Toono, Mabel Toone, Grace Toone, Vera Toono and Blanche Toone. The festivities were hold last Tuesday afternoon on the front lawn of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Toone. FOR MISS LORETTA GREENWELL, Miss Ruth White entertained at a pretty parcel shower last Wednesday afternoon In compliment to Miss Lo-retta Lo-retta Greenwell an autumn brlde-to-be. The home was prettily decorated for the occasion with cut flowers and the hostess served a delicious tray I1 I luncheon. The following were present: pres-ent: Mesdames Fred Williams, Lawrence Evans, Dr. White, Dr. Harding, E. H. Chambers, L. O. Halgren, B. White, MIsseB Meda Greenwell, Vera Bitton, Luella Stalllngs, Mildred Pardoe and Delia Tracy. Miss Greenwell received many lovely love-ly gifts. ENTERTAIN AT HALLOWE'EN PARTY. A pretty event of the past week was the Hallowe'en social given by the Double S girls' club at the home of Miss Emily Aland on Thirteenth street. The rooms were prettily decorated dec-orated for the occasion with Japanese lanterns and Hallowe-en ornaments and the evening was pleasantly spent i at various appropriate games, dancing! and vocal and instrumental music. At 11:30 o'clock Miss Aland assisted by the Misses Henrietta Sanborn and ; Rose Salerno, served a delicious six- 'ilH course luncheon, covers belug laid for j the following: : Misses Pearl Drake, Rose Salerna, Stella Tite, Hazel Knight, Jessie Tite.
