Show ITALIANS GAIN BIO SUCCESSES More Than 9000 Prisoners Taken in Last Few Days on Trieste Front. Rome, Nov. 5 Continuing their powerful offensive against Trieste, the troops of General Count Cadorna, under un-der the eye of the king and the Duko of Aosta, have gained fresh successes south of Gorizia. As a result of their operations of the last few days the Italians have taken prisoner more than 9000 Austro-Hungarians. Austro-Hungarians. Of these 270 were officers offi-cers and 8992 of other ranks, according accord-ing to an official statement issued today to-day by the war office. The Austrians are directing a 1 strong artillery fire against the now I Italian positions east of Gorizia, according ac-cording to the war office announcement, announce-ment, but, in spite of this, all the ground has been consolidated and fortified for-tified against counter-atacks. The latest Italian success was won in storming actions on tho sector south of the road from Oppachisella to Castagniovizza. Here the Italian lines were pushed well forward and about 200 prisoners taken. The majority ma-jority of those taken were wounded men abandoned by tho Austrians.
