Show oo FEU HIES III SALT LAKE CITY Salt Lake Tribune: Has rabies made its appearance in Salt Lake?. The state health department depart-ment fears it has, but a pathological test which is to be made today bv the state pathologist will settle the question definitely. The test is to bo made on tho head of a dog that was shot near Ninth East and Blaine avenue yesterday by Walter F. Josl, city dog license collector, col-lector, because It was acting as though it had rabies. The dog, a blooded Airedale belonging belong-ing to Dr. Claude W. Gates, fright-, ened the children of the neighborhood by-tunning strangely about the streets and acting as though it were crazy. The dog chased somo of tho children, and frightened parents put in a call for the dog catcher. Mr. Josl round the" dog acting queer-ly queer-ly and shot him at once. The body was taken to tho city crematory and the matter was reported to the state board of health. The head of the animal ani-mal will be turned over to the pathologist path-ologist this morning for examination. Tho pathologist reported to the board of health yesterday that his tests on a dog head from Snowville showed it to be positive and that a dog head from Tooele was also positive. posi-tive. oo |
