Show ALASKAN FUGITIVE REACHES SEATTLE Escapes Canadian Detention Camp and Arrives With His "Husky" Dog. Seattle, July 26. Gus E. Bierfiund, a banker and prospector of Yukon territory ter-ritory who escaped from a detention camp at the Canadian barracks on July 11, after an imprisonment which dated from the beginning of the European Eu-ropean war, is in Seattle today, having arrived yesterday aboard the steamer Jefferson. He was accompanied by Jack, a fuzzy-haired Alaskan "husky" dog, who assisted in his escape. Bierfiund said he left the detention camp and struck out for Skagaway the dog carrying his clothing. He reached Ekaway in seven days, after eluding the Canadian police. |
