Show ' PARADE. FIREWORK Al DANCE DURING THE FESTIVAL The entertainment committee of the Ogden Harvest Festival & Fashion Fash-ion Show association met this noon at the Weber club with Chairman John C. Culley, and discussed its share of the plans for the big celebration cele-bration to be staged in Ogden, September Sep-tember 7, 8 and 9. B. G. Carr, Dr. W. E. Whalen and Joseph Scowcroft, Jr., were appointed to make arrangements arrange-ments for' a "jitney" dance, to be held each night of tho big show, from 8 o'clock until midnight. A big hardwood hard-wood dancing surface, that can be quickly covered if necessary, will be laid in one of the large vacant lots on Hudson avenue between Twenty-fourth Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets and there for "five cents a throw" the hundreds of terpslchorean enthusiasts enthusi-asts of the intermountain states who are expected to make this city their Mecca during the latter part of Labor La-bor day week may dance as much as they desire. Incidentally the music committee will be levied upon for a big band to furnish inspiration to the dancers. Chairman Culley, 'who is to go east on a business trip next week, has plnuned to stop in Denver for a day or more on his way home to complete the special order of fireworks from the Western Fireworks company. He will visit the plant of the company and select a large number of special designs of aerial pyrotechnics for the exhibition that Is to close the festival festi-val program, Saturday night, September Sep-tember 9. H. B. Ames and F. G. Taylor have been named special aids to Mr. Culley to superintendent the staging of the fireworks display. The parade committee completed the official bill of instructions including in-cluding the marching itinerary of the "foot" parade scheduled to precede the staging of the "Continental Congress" Con-gress" tableau at the Alhambra theatre the-atre on the night of September 7. Tho instructions follow: All that are to take part In the parade must bo at their streets as signed not later than 7 o'clock p. m. The parade will move promptly at peventy thirty 7:30 p. m. At 7:2-1 p. m. a bomb willi be exploded ex-ploded which will be a signal to get ready to march. At 730 P. m. another bomb will be exploded which will be the signal for the column to start at once. Division .-Marshals as soon as their divisions are ready, in position, completely com-pletely former, will report tho same to chler of the staff at Twenty-slxth and Washington. All marchers will form in column of fours, dressing to the right, maintaining main-taining on tho march, a distance between be-tween each line of fours of three feet. Each dlvslon will maintain a distance dis-tance of twenty feet from preceding division. Military and semi-military divisions will observe tatical formations, maintaining main-taining distances from head to rear as prescribed herein. All distances must be strictly maintained. main-tained. .... Prevent widening to occur as nothing looks worse to a crowd than a poorly formed parade. Gaps must be avoided absolutelj'. All division marshals will be held responsible. No evolutions or fancy drills will be permitted while marching. Smoking in line of march will not be tolerated. The display of banners, announcing the identity of the organization carrying carry-ing them and printed slogans of a patriolc nature, embodying on expression expres-sion of spirit and general patriolc import im-port of the occasion, will be permitted. per-mitted. The carrying of banners or any printed matters of any description, of an advertising, pollical, sectarian nature na-ture is strictly prohibited. As there will be no delay in starting, start-ing, should any organization not be in position to take its proper place in the line of march when such time arrives, tho march will proceed without with-out them and they will not he permitted per-mitted to enter subsequently. Itinerary of parade: Starting at Twenty-sixth and Washington, north to Twenty-second, back on west side of Washington to Twenty-fourth street, down Twenty-fourth to Wall, over Wall to Twenty-fifth street and Twenty-fifth streot, to Washington, then to Twenty-sixth and disband. -nn |
