Show Democrats Predict Defeat of Lodge, Boston, Nov. 6. Both Republican and Democratic party managers planned plan-ned today to carry their campaign activities up to tho last possible mo-merit mo-merit before tho election. Governor McCall, who seeks re-election, and his Democratic opponent, Frederick W. Mansfield, made their final pleas on the campaign Issues and Interests in this city, and rallies, many of thorn In the open air, were arranged for all parts of tho slate. Leaders remained firm in their es- tlmates of victory tomorrow for both Btate and national tickets, including the return of Senator Henry Cabot Lodge in his first test by popular vote by a margin of at least 75,000. Democratic state committeemen asserted as-serted confidence that President Wilson Wil-son and Mr. Mansfield would carry the state by safe margins and that John Fitzgerald, former mayor of Boston, Bos-ton, would defeat Senator Lodge. |
