Show BILLINGS SIT OUT BV EAST HIGH Salt Lake East Side School Gives Billings High Gridists a Walloping, Score 58 to 0. East High 5S Billings H. S 0 Billings, Mont., Nov. 30. The East high school football team of Salt Lake J outplayed the Billings high eleven I here today and won the Thanksgiving ' day sport card by the large score of 5S to 0. Ideal weather conditions existed with tho exception of a stiff breeze that made open play impossible. An immense crowd was in attendance, the people coming from far and wide. Leopard scoring started soon after the beginning of play, when, after forcing the ball down the field with large gains to the ten-yard line, the Tigers held their opponents for downs and gained the ball. On tho punt the wind carried the pigskin out of bounds on the fifteen-yard line. From ! this position the Leopard line opened up a large hole and Romney pushed his way over for the first score. Wor-ley Wor-ley failed to kick goal. Again during this period tho Salt Lakers went down the gridiron and Lee dodged over the line. Soon after the beginning of the second sec-ond period the Red and Black boys added to their total when Barnes succeeded suc-ceeded in making a pretty run through the lino for a counter. Billings' Hard Luck. At this point Billings had luck against them, for, after getting on the Leopards' three-yard mark, an unlucky un-lucky fumble bounced the ball into Barnes' arms, and with perfeet interference inter-ference he sped ninety-seven yards for more points. Only once during the game did the Tigers have a chance to score. This opportunity came when they worked several forward passes to the ten-yard point and passed the ball over the line, only to be fumbled by a Billings player. The half ended without further fur-ther scoring. The teams came back with a lot of pep, as the Salt Lake men were playing play-ing together like a well-oiled machine which the local lads were unable to solve. Crowd Is Thrilled. Lee brought the crowd to their feet on a spectacular piece of work when he received the ball on a klckoff and went through the entire tiger team for a touchdown. The teamwork of the Utah men was so good that it was hard to pick out individuals for special mention. The back field performed in grent style, led by Captain Romney. S. McDonald, Jones and Suiter played good ball for I the .locals. I As the team from Salt Lake succeeded suc-ceeded in making more points against , Billings than Butte did several weeks ago, the fans would like to see a game between these two elevens. Today's contest was followed bv a . big banquet for both teams and a the- j atro party with a dance following.
