The score was 6 to 3. The game which was preceded by a parade, drew a crowd of 12,000 persons. In the third Venice got no runs. Evans of Portland wta first up to bat in the third. He knocked the ball over the right field fence scoring scor-ing a home run. In the fourth inning in-ning Mitchell was struck by a ball and took first. Kane singled to left and Mitchell took socond. Berger dropped a Texas leaguer back of short and Mitchell Bcored. This ended the scoring until the eighth, when Portland bagged another, making the score 4 to 3 In favor of Venice. In the ninth inning Carllslo again stepped Into the limelight by knocking out a two bagger to left field with two basses full. GlelBch-man GlelBch-man and Purtell were on bases when the hit was made and both scored. The batteries for Venice were Mitchell, Plercy and Mltze. For Portland Port-land the batteries were Krause, Evans Ev-ans and Fisher. Mitchell of Venice sprained his ankle in the seventh. The umpires were Nick Williams and Ed Finney. The All-Hallows college baseball team held its last hard practice last night and Is prepared to meet the Jordan high schoo nine this afternoon on the college col-lege diamond. Coach "Blondy" Hamilton Ham-ilton has a husky bunch of ball players play-ers at Jordan, who can hit well and are fairly good at fielding. Conk-right, Conk-right, All-Hallows' star twlrler, will not pitch the opening game, aa the coach wishes to save him for the game against the West Side next Tuesday.
