May 28 Creed Hay- mond w as elected captain of next vear's Uniersit of Ctah track team yesterday, and Lowell Romney captain of the hasehnll team Hoth men are third-year students at the univorsit, are two of the best athletes, as well a the most popular leaders at the college, and have starred in Utah ath Iptles for two years. Both elections were unanimous. Four men wore put up for the officy of track captain. They were O. W. Parry. Lowell Romney, Rodper Van Pelt and Haymond One by one they withdrew their names passing the honors to Haymond. Haymond 's work In track this year has been one of the sensations of the west. Not content with winning the honors in the snrints In Utah he went to the Colorado meet and won Mrsl in both the 100 and 220 from ( lyne of Boulder, thus upsetting the dope, and established a confereuce record in the longer run at 21 2. Romnev Is a vpteran of two years, plays either infield or outfield, is a hard hitter and a conscientious player all around Romney is one of the few four letter men In the university This year he has won letters in baseball, track, football and basketball Of all these his ability Is perhaps most pronounced in the national pastime.
