E. Browning, and will bo tho site of the Harvest Festival barbecue. The barbeouo commltteo, headod by T. G. Burt, has laid plans for the biggest public "feed" ever staged In northern Utah. Casey, secretary, of the Harvest Festival and Fashion Show association, went to Salt Lake today to Interest the railroad officials in featuring the exposition to be held in Ogden In 1919, in the floats they will enter in tho industrial parade. The quen committee held a meeting last night and decided, in order to prevent discord and a heavy expenditure expendi-ture of money in the selection of a queen for the big celebration, to assume as-sume tho responsibility of selecting the queen. As soon as tho selection is made, the name of the lady so honored will be presented to the board of directors of the festival association, associa-tion, but her identity will be kept from the public until Thursday evening, eve-ning, Sept. 7, when it will be disclosed dis-closed at the First Continental Congress Con-gress drama to be staged at the Alhambra Al-hambra theater. An additional announcement made last night was that arrangements had been made by the entertainment committee com-mittee for an automobile race from Ogden to the Utah Hot Springs, for amateurs only. This will bo run on Friday morning, the second day of the show. The grounds at Twenty-seventh street and Grant avenue have been obtained for the staging of the broncho bron-cho busting contests already planned, according to an announcement made yesterday" by Ben Hunsaker and H. W. Dunn, of the special committee. These contests will probably be held Friday morning, also. |
