Show oo LIGHTFB ITCH UPON A BED CAUSES M DAMAGE The -careless tossing of a lighted match upon a bed in a local rooming bouse, cost W. Wakefield Twist, approximately ap-proximately $20 today, in accordance with an agreement with the municipal court judge. Mrs. D. G. Grange was the complaining witness in the case and she claimed that Twist was responsible re-sponsible for the destruction of a set of mattresses and some bedclothes in her rooming house about a week ago. The defendant also owed her 2.50 room rent, she said, and this was also covered in his promise to the judge. Twist was arrested December 21 by Detective Robert Chambers on a warrant, war-rant, atthe Creston hotel. The testimony testi-mony of Mrs. Grange was to the effect ef-fect that the fire had damaged her property and also identified the defendant de-fendant as the man responsible for the damage. Twist worked hard to obtain an acquittal but failed and he will have to repay Mrs. Grange for the damage to her property. He was formerly owner of a cigar store in Twin Falls, Ida. The case was taken under 'advisement. Harry Korb was fined $5 for allowing allow-ing n minors to loiter in his Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth street poolhall. Henry Timber-lake, Timber-lake, Quinn Elliott and James Lake were given five-day sentences each for drunkenness. John Brennan drew ten days for the same offense, having been repeatedly before the court on the same charge. Charley Hartley, a "moocher," got five days. |
