Ruddcll, in explaining to the municipal court Judge this morning, why he had eaten a meal at the Vienna restaurant yesterday without with-out paying for it. He also said he endeavored for two weeks to get work in Ogden, then spent the last of his money to go to Promontory to get a job. He was unsuccessful there and returned to Ogden without funds. "I knew it was wrong," he said further, "but I couldn't beg and just broke mto jail." The judge decided to take his case under advisement until tomorrow. to-morrow. John Doe Hopkins was sentenced to servo ten days in jail for disturbing the peace yesterday by the use of vile language on the street. Ho was intoxicated at tho time and had interfered, in-terfered, uninvited, in an argument between two other persons, over the creditabillty of the witnesses in the Qulgley murder case. He was taken into custody by Patrolman William Brown. "William Chappel pleaded not guilty to a charge of drunkenness and had his case taken underadvisement. |
