Show FORMER OGDENITE CAIOT BE FOB Constable J. C. Rich of Imlay disappeared disap-peared the early part of this month and so far all efforts of the authorities authori-ties and his family to locate him' have failed. Rich is said to have lost heavily at gambling for several weeks before he disappeared. It Is known that ho went to Salt Lake City, aB he mailed a letter to Sheriff Lamb from that cit. In the letter he stated that when it was received he would be dead, as he was going out on the desert to kill himself and no one would "find his body. All trace of him was lost in Salt Lake. The authorities, however, jy do not believe that he has made away!' with himself but are of the opinion ! that the letter written in Salt Lake was intended as a blind to cover his trail. : , A Salt Lake paper stated that the postmaster of that city has received a , letter from Mrs. Rich asking him to post the, following notice at the gener-f. al delivery window '' "Should J. C. Rich see this, hifj heartbroken wife and children pray jf he will write them." , i Mrs. Rich is in Imlay and believe!; that her husband will write her if he " reads her communication sent to the Salt Lake postmaster. f' Rich is an old-time resident of thUij county and had always borne a good!! reputation.
