Show oo ADMITS ROBBING AN IDAHO OFFICE San Francisco, July 15 Harried by a guilty conscience and tho fear that his wife might be made to suffer punishment pun-ishment with him, Clarenco McDanl-els, McDanl-els, a postoffice employe at Palo Al- to, who was arrested by federal officials offi-cials Wednesday night and accused of the theft-of $20,000 in cash from tho postoffice at "Wallace. Idaho, in December, 1913, broke down today under the merciless examinattpn of Postal Inspector James O'Connell here and confessed his guilt. McDaniels not only admitted that he had robbed tho government, but offered to make all the restitution in his power, and told the inspectors that approximately $18,000 of the stolen sto-len money was buried under the chicken coop in tho back yard of tho little home in Palo Alto, where he and his wife, with their 8-year-old son, have been living for the past year. |
