Show uu Salary Reductions To Be Decided On Friday San Francisco, Nov. 10 A decision in the mater of salary reductions, the subject that occupied much of the time at today's session of the National Association As-sociation of Professional Baseball Leagues, may be settled Friday when tho convention reconvenes. In the Interim, according to Instructions approved ap-proved by the convention, each classification classi-fication will hold separate meetings 'and prepare for Friday's session ah outlino of their ideas on the salary question. Charles Ebhetts, president of the Brooklyn Nationals, according to J H. Farrell, secretary of the asociatlon, who issued an official report of the meeting, advised the minor leaguo men not to establish a standard sal-arv sal-arv limit for all leagues. "Baseball can be saved only by sensible regulation of salaries," Farrell Far-rell said. "It would be foolhardy for this convention to attempt to fix a general salary limit for all leagues Each league should set Its own figure to which all clubs should adhere rigidly." Among other questions there were discussions at the meeting on a proposal pro-posal to establish for each league, uniform training dates, player limits during the playing season, maximum salaries and a limit on tho number of players held In reserve during tho winter Among the supporters of Ebbetts proposal at the session was Clyde I. Shropshire, president of the Nash-villo Nash-villo club in the Southern loague. Ho told the baseball men that tho South' ern league had not suffered during tho past season as had others because Its members "stuck to a salary limit." oo |
