Show GREEK VESSEL BEEN RECALLED New York, Oct. 12. The Greek steamer VaBilefs Constantlnos, which sailed for Piraeus at midnight with more than 2000 reservists on board, was recalled by wireless soon after she had passed out of the Ambrose channel today, and ordered to remain at anchor in quarantine until further notice. The suddenness of the recall, occasioned oc-casioned by the receipt here of a cablegram from the Greek government govern-ment by Nicholas Galanos, agent for the line, and the fact that the Greek consul here had not been apprised of the situation, created considerable discussion in shipping circles. It was.hlnted that the reason might be that Greece intended after all to enter the- war on tho German side and sent the Constantlnos and the reservists re-servists back to New York to prevent capture by tho British. Another report re-port said that Greece, having decided to remain neutral, had no use for the men and deBlred them to return to their work in this country |
