CONTEST IT TBE WEBER ACADEMY The weekly "Student Body" assembly assem-bly at the Weber academy was held this morning and the time was taken up with an extemporaneous speaking contest and an address by Oscar K. Klrkham. field secretary of the Young Men's Mutual Improvement association associa-tion of the Mormon church. The rjpeaklng contest was participated participa-ted In by representatives of the four classes as follows. Freshman, Louis Scoville and Bertha Ber-tha Farley; Sophomore, Glen Poulte-and Poulte-and Ralph Rnckson; Juniors Trilby Brown and Leon Berrett; Seniors. Lorenzo Lo-renzo Williamson and Pearl Ward-leigh Ward-leigh Tho genpral subject discustied was "Industrie., of Utah." The judges were Profs. C. T. Jen- BBi Bill riuilt'li .iuu v . n. Ai a II ni u and they gave a unanimous decision In favor of the rcprc srmtatlves of the senior clas Miss Wardleigh took up a discussion of the cement Industry Indus-try and Mr. Williamson of the beet I sugar industry. This victory makes two out of three for the senior class. |
