The Mis6es Ruth Peterson and Marie Ma-rie West, two of the popular clerks at the Last & Thomas store, have returned re-turned from Idaho, where they passed their vacations. Mi68 Peterson visited visit-ed friends in Glenns Ferry and Boise and Miss West visited friends in Pre6ton, where 6he lived with her parents, Charles C. and Mrs Maggie West, several years ago. Both young ladies are telling their Ogden friends that their trip to Idaho was one of continuous enjoyment. AT THE HERMITAGE. Mrs W. G Sealey, Miss Evelyn Rieley. Mrs. C P. Goody and her daughter, Irene, of Salt Lake are at the Hermitage for the week, guests at the hotel. FROM SALT LAKE. Miss Ina Woodmansee of Salt Lake Is an Ogden visitor, the guest of relatives and friends. FOURTH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. CELE-BRATION. Monday afternoon from 2 until 4 o'clock, Mrs. William Harris, 569 Twenty-fourth street entertained a number of boys and girj& in honor of her son Jerry Jean Harris' fourth birthday. The home was exceptionally beautiful beau-tiful wltli a nrnfnsinn rf lovftlv Slim mer flowers In the dining room, the table was prettily decorated, the color col-or scheme being carried out in yellow. yel-low. Streamers of yellow ribbon rad-iated rad-iated from the chandelier to each little lit-tle guests place. A large cutglass bowl of marigolds adorned the center ot the table. The dainty place cards and invitations were handpainted with a novel design in yellow Refreshments and the birthday cako were carried out In the yellow decorative scheme, yellow tulle and marigolds being placed about the cake upon which were four lighted candles. As favors each little girl received a doll dressod as a lady In the latest lat-est fashion novel, white, miniature ships were given the boys present During the afternoon appropriate games were enjoyed and photographs of the little ones were taken. The following were present to assist as-sist faster Jerry in celebrating his fourth birthday: Misses Margaret De Vine, Marjorle Ferris, Lillian Shee-han, Shee-han, Florence Hendershot, Mollie Margaret Miles of Salt Lake and the Masters Teddy Kuhn, James Loruard, Rich Horrocks and Jerry Jean Harris. The little host received many dain ty gifts. FROM CALIFORNIA, Miss Roslta Sharp of Oroville. Cat, arrived in Ogden today at 1 p ra, and will be the guest of Mrs. Pearl Smalley and Miss Grace Wilbur during dur-ing the next thirty days. Miss Sharp Is a former Ogdenite. MISS GUNNELL WILL DEPART. Miss Allie Gunnell, daughter of Judge V. C Gunnell, who has been passing her vacation In Ogden. expects ex-pects to depart for Los Angeles tomorrow. to-morrow. From Los Angeles, Miss Gunnell will go to Ventura. Cal., to resume her work In the public schools of that city. |
