Show SALT LAKE TO HAVE PARADE ON MONDAY Salt Lake, March 23. Final details for tho reception of .National Commander Com-mander Washington Gardiner of the G. A. Ii., who will be in Salt Lake-Sunday Lake-Sunday and Monday, and the program for the meeting which will be addressed ad-dressed by Commander Gardiner in the Tabernacle Monday night, will be completed today. Commander Gardiner Gardi-ner will arrive In Ogden from tho east tonight. Ho will be met by a committee com-mittee or members of the Dlx-Logan post, G. A. R., and will be escorted to the Reed hotel. He will come to Salt Lake at noon Sunday, and will remain until Monday Mon-day night, after which he will take his departure for the coast. Sunday and Monday ho will be shown the sights of Salt Lake, and will be entertained en-tertained hy membors of the G. A. R. Monday afternoon a parade of patriotic patri-otic organizations will march In his honor through the main streets of the city. He will apeak In the Tabernacle Taberna-cle on "Patriotism." Govcrnbr William Wil-liam Spry and Mayor Samuel C. Park will deliver addresses of welcome preceding Commander Gardiner's address. ad-dress. Upon his arrival Sunday Commander Command-er Gardiner will he taken to the Hotel Utah, Later in the afternoon the commander and his staff will be given a ride through the city, the balance of the day and evening being be-ing subject to the convenience of Mr. Gardiner. Monday afternoon a parade par-ade has been arranged, which will bo composed of a platoon, which will be composed of a platoon of police, Governor Spry and staff, Commander Gardiner and staff, Mayor Park and the city Commissioners, Grand Army veterans, Confederate veterans, Spanish Span-ish war veterans, officers of the National Na-tional Guard, High school cadets and band and patriotic citizens. Following the parade a public reception re-ception will be held by the commander-in-chief in the Hotel Utah, to which all citizens are cordially invited. |
