A sword I duel fought today between Jacques Rlchepin, son of Jean Richopln, the ; I "immortal," and Pierre Frondaie, au- j thor of a play now being performed in Paris, resulted in the wounding ; j of Frondaie. f j The quarrel arose out of an incl- j dent in the lobby of a theatre on , Wednesday. Mme. Frondaie, it is j i alleged, made some cutting remarks j 1 to Jacques Richepin's wife, known as j Mme. Cora Laparcerie, who is co- j manager of the theatre. M. Frondaie took full responsibility . for his wife's coniments and was I thereupon challenged to fight by M. J j p Richepin. j tf The encounter look place in the I suburb of Neuilly. More than a I hundred notable literary' and dramatic 1 i men, numerous reporters, photograph- , ers and moving picture operators watched the combat. The wives or both principals appeared ap-peared on the scene, but were not allowed al-lowed to watch the combat. They remained on tho road outside in their automobiles where they were surrounded sur-rounded by crowds of women friends.
