P. G. Savage of Detroit expressed the opinion that the robber boarded the train at Ann Arbor, Mich , inscead of Jackson. "I noticed a man who got on at Ann Arbor." said Savage. "He answered an-swered the description of the bandit and seemed to be observing everything every-thing very closely." Detroit, Mich., Jan. 23 Michigan Central passenger train No. 7, westbound west-bound from Detroit to Chicago, was held up early this morning near Jackson, by an armed highwayman, according to a report from Battle Creek The bandit boarded the train ,, at Jackson and when a short distance west of that place entered the Pull- man car, covering the passengers with pistols. Several persons had been robbed when the train was stopped by some one pulling the hell cord signal The robbers fled, no shots having been fired. Marshall. Mich., Jan. 23. When Michigan Central train No. 7 which was held up near Jackson early today to-day arrived here the passengers passen-gers took Inventories and It was learned that the bandit got The passengers were not compelled to leave their berths, the robber reaching in hauling out clothing and grips, searching them and moving on. It is said there were several women on tho train The whole affair caused caus-ed so little confusion that the en-gine en-gine crew knew nothing of the rob-bery rob-bery until it has been accomplished.
